JEFF ELLIS

Mr. Ellis has served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , Corporate HR Shared Services, for MGM Resorts International since 2000. His career is rooted in the strategy, design, and fiscal management of health and wellness programs.  In the course of his career, Mr. Ellis has served as VP Finance or CFO of hospitals, managed care organizations and physician groups. He currently serves as co-chair of the Health Services Coalition, a joint management-union health care coalition. Mr. Ellis received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with honors from Valparaiso University in Indiana and has a CPA certification. He has also attended multiple audit, SEC, tax, and MIS classes administered by his previous employer, Arthur Anderson, as well as by the Healthcare Financial Management Association and Group Health Association of America. 

ELIZABETH RENEE FRANKLIN

Ms. Franklin is presently the Principal and Founder of Franklin & Bridges, LLC. Currently, she consults on leaderships and business issues for individuals and corporations. A resident of Nevada since 2001, she is a retired Human Resources professional who has held senior or chief HR officer positions with Tower Automotive, the Ford Motor Company and Colgate Palmolive, among other companies. In her C-suite role at Tower Automotive, Ms. Franklin was responsible for the fully insured and self-insured health care plans for all employees.  She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her MBA from Vanderbilt University with concentrations on Human Resources and Marketing.

HARRY HAGERTY

Mr. Hagerty is the CFO of Galaxy Gaming, Inc. He has built his career in finance and has served as CFO of two NYSE listed companies in the gaming industry. Mr. Hagerty has been actively involved with UMC since 2008, serving on the board of the UMC Foundation (currently President and Treasurer) and on the former Hospital Advisory Board. Mr. Hagerty received his MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in Economics from Princeton University.

LAURA LOPEZ HOBBS

Ms. Lopez Hobbs held the position of Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration, for the Southwest Gas Corporation prior to her retirement in 2014. Ms. Lopez Hobbs was responsible for developing healthcare strategy at Southwest Gas Corporation for over 2,200 employees and their families. She transitioned Southwest Gas from a fully-insured medical plan to a self-insured plan. She also moved the corporation from a PPO model to a consumer-driven health care model. She has been deeply involved in the Las Vegas community through her membership and leadership in various philanthropic and charitable organizations. Ms. Lopez Hobbs received her BS in Business Administration and her MBA from the University of Nevada.

JOHN O’REILLY

Mr. O’Reilly is an attorney with the O’Reilly Law Group, LLC. He has substantial experience as a Chairman, CEO and board member of various New York Stock Exchange companies, as well as serving on the board of various privately owned and non-profit entities. He has been active in the greater Las Vegas community as a volunteer with the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, UNLV and the UNLV Foundation, United Way, USAF Support Group, among others. Mr. O’Reilly has served as Chair of the Nevada Gaming Commission and currently sits on the board of the UCLA Health System. He received his J.D. and B.S. degrees from St. Louis University and his MBA from UNLV.

CHRISTIAN D. HAASE

Christian Haase is founder, owner and operator of several Las Vegas based companies including Burnett Haase Construction, 24/Seven Xpress Convenience Stores and Liquor Library, LLC at McCarran Airport. In addition, he has principal experience in all areas of commercial real estate development, management and feasibility analysis.

Mr. Haase recently served as President of the Nevada Chapter Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He also serves the community as a member of the CDMC advisory board to UNLV and as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts. He is active in the Las Vegas chapter of Young President’s Organization (YPO-Gold) He has also been active in The National Association for Office and Industrial Parks, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Development Authority, the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies mentoring program Child Haven, a Division of Clark County Family & Youth Services by contributing the construction of the Links for Life Park on the grounds of the Child Haven facility. Mr. Haase received his bachelor’s degree from the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

MARY LYNN PALENIK

Ms. Palenik is Vice President of the Corporate Project Management Office for Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. She is an executive with over 30 years of professional experience, and holds a Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from St. Joseph’s College, and certification as a Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), and Project Management Professional (PMP). Ms. Palenik spent over 17 years as an Advisory Services Director for PwC, leading consulting engagements for domestic and multi-national clients designed to improve financial and operational effectiveness, drive revenue growth, and realize cost efficiencies. She has been a member of the Las Vegas community since relocating to Southern Nevada in 1991, and is active in the community supporting various philanthropic and charitable organizations through board service.

DONALD R. MACKAY, M. D.

Dr. Mackay has been a resident of Las Vegas for 35 years. He co-founded Orthopaedic Specialists of Nevada and practiced as a board certified orthopaedic surgeon for 27 years before retiring in 2006. He was a former staff physician at UMC, Valley, Sunrise, Desert Springs, Mountainview, Summerlin and North Vista Hospitals. In 1966 Dr. Mackay graduated from Marquette University with a B. S. degree in biology and in 1970 graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin. For 2 years he worked as an emergency medicine physician and general practitioner. He spent 16 months as a general surgery resident, and in 1977 completed his 3 years of orthopaedic training in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Mackay served for 6 years as a member of the Board of Councilors, an advisory board to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of a Las Vegas community bank and a Las Vegas trust company.

ROBYN CASPERSEN

Ms. Caspersen is an experienced accounting and financial reporting leader and board member who brings proven expertise and insights into all facets of risk assessment, finance, accounting, and financial reporting. Significant to Ms. Caspersen’s over 30 years of experience included over 24 years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where she was a senior partner providing audit and advisory services to public, private and municipal entities until her retirement in 2013. Critical to Robyn’s success is her ability to lead and collaborate with both internal and external groups, including operations, financial planning and analysis, and compliance, to bring leadership and solutions to challenges while maintaining strong relationships across those groups. Currently, Robyn is a member of several boards, both corporate and not-for-profit, including Aethena Healthcare Holding Company and United Way of Southern Nevada. Robyn is passionate about serving the needs of the community of Southern Nevada through her leadership, philanthropy and volunteerism. She is a long-time contributor to and volunteer with United Way, who, in addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Southern Nevada, it’s Executive Committee, and Audit Committee, is also the Co-Chair of its Women’s Leadership Council, and a member of its Tocqueville Society, including its Steering Committee.
