UMC is the first hospital in Nevada to receive the most advanced level of Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. This accreditation as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation recognizes UMC’s high level of expertise in caring for patients who exhibit symptoms of a heart attack.

The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care’s Chest Pain Center Accreditation process ensures that hospitals meet or exceed an array of stringent criteria and undergo a comprehensive on-site review by a team of accreditation review specialists.

The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association recognize this hospital for having reached an aggressive goal of treating patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association® for one calendar year.The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association recognize this hospital for having reached an aggressive goal of treating patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association® for one calendar year. Kidney Transplant Program Recertification by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services 2015The UMC Lions Burn Care Center recently became one of only a few hospitals in the nation to be verified as a Burn Center by the American Burn Association and the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons. This achievement recognizes the UMC Lions Burn Care Center’s commitment to providing patients with the highest level of burn care.

UMC TREE OF HOPE

UMC plans to introduce the Tree of Hope, a unique art installation within the hospital’s lobby that will serve to recognize the patients and donors who inspire our team and offer valuable hope to our community as a whole. Donors will receive recognition with customized lanterns adorning the tree’s branches, symbolizing the bright future made possible by their generosity.
