"As the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, UMC provides the highest level of care in the state, with the only Level I Trauma Center and only Designated Pediatric Trauma Center. By combining UMC's acute care with neighboring specialties, Southern Nevadans now have a concentrated center for medical excellence." - Mason VanHouweling, CEO, UMC
UMC recently became the only hospital in Southern Nevada to offer cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), providing community members and local physicians with a valuable new resource supported by cutting-edge technology. In the past, many patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions traveled outside of Nevada to have this test performed, but the technology is now available at UMC, in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District.

COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIREMENT:The University Medical Center of Southern Nevada is committed to our mission of serving the Las Vegas community. We support our mission in various ways; one such way is our ongoing commitment to providing a safe work environment for our clinicians and team members, which helps create a safer care environment for our patients. Therefore, on September 1, 2021, UMC began requiring all newly hired team members to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 before their first day of employment. Those newly hired team members who have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccination may schedule a vaccine appointment at the UMC Advanced Center for Health by calling (702) 789-5160 or through their personal or community healthcare provider. New team members may submit a medical contraindication or sincerely held religious belief exemption for review. If an exemption is approved, new team members will be subject to other requirements (e.g., mandatory weekly testing). Regardless of vaccination status, all team members must wear an appropriate approved face mask in all areas of the organization and adhere to the requirements of hospital policy on Vaccination of Healthcare Workers for SARS-COVID 19.
